Principal's Report

Wow time really does fly by; it is hard to believe we are once again winding up another term and heading into our mid-year break. This term teachers have worked effectively on continuing to implement the new teaching model into our classrooms. We have been focusing on explicit teaching and student engagement in the classroom as per the new VTLM 2.0 teaching and learning model introduced by the Education Department in 2025. Our strong phonics approach continues to be reviewed and refined to support the best student outcomes for reading and supports the structured literacy approach.

This week we say a sad farewell to Mia Dickson who has supported the school in the office for the past 18 months. Mia learned the job quickly and was a smiling face around the school which will be missed by all, we wish her all the very best in her next adventure!

Last Friday our middle leaders headed to Deakin to work alongside other leaders from surrounding school with Ryan Dunn who is a leader in collaboration and running teams successfully. Paul and Davey both reported that the session was highly valuable.

I wish everyone a safe and fun-filled holiday and look forward to the lightbulb moments that term 3 brings.

Take care

Kylie Carter

Principal

Parents Association Report

The Parents Association is now 2 years old and with some hard work we are now able to make some significant contributions.

This year has seen the Parents Association provide all the extra items that each child needed for camp. The Early Year students were provided with back packs, blankets, sleeping bags, torches and all the toiletries. Each child then got to take these home to keep and use for future camps.

We will be continuing this for both middle years and later years camps as well.

Next term we will be having a small raffle at the school concert so don’t forget to bring your goldies if you can spare a few.

We will be back taking photos for book week and will have something for Fathers Day.

We are always happy to hear from parents and carers on how we can help.

Here is to another 2 years.
