Our Terang Campus students had the best time on their camp at Anglesea; there was lots of fun activities and students demonstrating resilience. Some students reported how brave they were making huge milk crate towers and climbing the rock wall. Other students demonstrated great pride in being away from home for the very first time! Thank you to all the staff that ensured our students had the very best time, through sleepy eyes they have also reported what a great camp it was and I’m sure everyone had the best night sleep last night! Camps are an important part of the school experience and at Hampden they are valued highly by our school community.
Thank you again to parents for respecting the new process around contacting the school and avoiding contacting staff on their personal phones, this practice ensures that teacher’s privacy is respected and boundaries are clear. Please continue to use Xuno, the school office number, write a note or ring/text the school phone that is available at each section of the school.

Teachers are busy assessing students to report on in our upcoming midyear reports that will be sent home on Thursday 25th June. Please be mindful due to the Australian Education Union industrial action all students will receive reports to provide important details about student learning attainment, but full descriptive comments may not be included as a result. Teachers will be pleased to discuss with you your child’s progress at our next parent-teacher (SSG) interviews scheduled for Monday 27th July.
Next Tuesday afternoon all staff will participate in the updated Childsafe professional learning training, this is mandated training for all staff and ensures everyone is up to date and current with the Childsafe laws.
Take care

PROJECT ROCKIT 29/7/2026
MIDDLE YEAR STUDENTS
2 PROGRAMMES Unite - 9.15-10.30AM
Step up - 11.30-12.30PM
UNITE builds a shared understanding of what bullying is and how it impacts those targeted. Students are empowered with strategies to promote a culture of taking action to support each other.
The big idea: “When it comes to bullying, either you’re part of the problem or part of the solution.”
In this workshop, students will:
Recognise what bullying looks like online and offline, and reflect on the role they play in creating safe or unsafe spaces.
After this workshop, students will:
Understand the emotional impact of bullying on others and explore how their actions (even small ones) can support their peers.
After this workshop, students will:
Build a toolkit of practical, age-appropriate strategies to safely challenge bullying and support those affected.
STEP UP launches students into a mindset of social leadership and strength, exploring their individual capabilities to take positive action on causes and issues that are important to them.
The big idea: “Thriving communities powered by leaders like us.”
In this workshop, students will:
Reflect on times they have stood up for what they believe in and recognise what helped them take action.
After this workshop, students will:
Identify their own strengths and the strengths of others, and understand how working together helps create positive change.
After this workshop, students will:
Recognise issues they care about in their school or community and identify small, achievable steps they can take to improve things.
