From The Principal

Thank you to our Parents and Friends association for running the Bunnings BBQ last Saturday, they were kept very busy and raised funds for our school. Thank you to all our families that volunteered for this event.

Thank you for the strong response we have had from families to cease contacting staff on personal devices, please continue to call the office, use Xuno, write a note or use our mobile phones that are available in each area of the school. These school phones welcome both messages and calls.

In all areas of the school, we continue to have a focus on using the School Wide Positive Behaviour Support Program to support the needs of our students. This program focuses on a positive approach to behaviours with a reward system, there is also education based consequences to promote positive behaviours in the school to support all our learners.

Next Monday Geraldine’s class will venture to Deakin in Warrnambool for the day to participate in “Try a Career Day’, this is always well received by the students who will have the opportunity to explore future pathways and be exposed to careers they may not have considered.

Take care,
Kylie Carter

Pat Cronin Foundation

Be Wise. Think Carefully. Act Kindly.

Today we had the Pat Cronin foundation come and deliver the story of Pat, a young man who was “coward punched” resulting in his death. We looked at warning signs of anger and what to do when we feel angry. We also discussed how violence can effect everyone, not just the ones involved in the fight.

Helping young students act kindly, stay safe and make wise choices

1 in 3 students admit they like watching fights at school

Violence in schools isn’t new, but it’s on the rise. We’re working with over 400 schools nationwide to help young people make wiser choices and prevent violence before it starts.

Stop. Think. Choose

Helping does not mean stepping in. Helping means reducing harm.
