Newsletter 14th May, 2026

From the Principal

Recently our teachers participated in some Professional Learning with Ben Nguyen who is a specialist in Explicit Teaching and strategies to support students in the classroom with learning to read and write and keep students engaged in their learning. This Day was very informative, and many strategies shared that teachers will implement in their classrooms to impact student behaviours and learning outcomes.

From Monday 18th May teachers will no longer be responding to communication through their personal phones, families are asked to use Xuno, call the office or write a note to the teacher. Each area of the school now have their their own mobile phone and individual number that can be used on excursions, or for parents to contact this number as needed. Parents are welcome to text message the school phone to pass on messages if this is easier than Xuno. Information regarding the numbers will be sent out on Friday 15th may.

Managing Bullying continues to be a focus of the school with a strong focus in Middle Years. We continue to use strategies from the School Wide Positive Behaviour Support model and behaviour therapist Dan Petro. These tier 1 applications are used across the whole school to ensure consistency of practice.

A great big thank you goes out to Evan Savage who has been a dedicated long serving member of our team of bus staff. Evan shows great dedication and commitment towards our families, often going above and beyond the expectations of his role. Evan you will be sadly missed but we wish you the best in your retirement with many more adventures coming your way.

Take care

Kylie Carter

Principal
